As usually in our life the chance was
was helping us with the foundation of the AOS Club. |

A. Vacano visited in spring 72 the international car show
in Geneva with his Avanti. Coming back from exhibition
to his car, he found under his wiper a short notice from
a Studebaker enthousiast from USA, who spent at the technical
university of Zurich a semester in mathematics. Alfred
and his wife followed an invitation to se the Seebach
family in Zurich and Mr. Seebach organised a meeting with
Urs Meyer. He learned to know Urs with his Avanti at the
university and he asked to do him a favour to bring Mrs.
Seebach and the new born sun from the hospital at home.
An other chance was that they saw another Avanti in front
of the hospital, belonging to the gynaecologist of Mrs.
Seebach, Dr. Alfred Abbühl. |

Alfred
and Urs saw eachother first time at the Seebach family
and decided to search other Avantis by contacting the
former Studebaker garages and so we became the addresses
of other Avanti owners, servicing their cars in the former
Studebaker garages.
We organised the first Avanti meeting in august 8th 1972
at the Brestenberg castle and there was the foundation
of the Avanti Owners Switzerland Club. Most of the members
from that time are still in the club, they grow older
in the meantime naturally. |
